I was converted of Tatsuro Yamashita's stardom to Makoto Matsushita's simplicity. You don't need to have outstanding vocals to be a great singer. I believe Matsushita is nearer the "wabi-sabi" concept. He is simple; that's why I started to love his oeuvres.
Makoto is as breath taking as his music, I would pay any amount to watch him perform live ,His art is like honey never expires and only gets more beneficial with age

Noctis Altura the contemporary jazz guitarists worldwide kinda died down past the 2000s. Norman brown, Benson, etc. They still perform and make music as far as I know, they just ain't in the limelight
